Some advice
Some advice if you’re coming to new york for the first time. There are 3 main airports in the area: laguardia, jfk and newark. For laguardia, make sure to tell the taxi driver to take the BQE to the brooklyn bridge, if you’re staying in lower manhattan. Because there is no more magical way to see manhattan for the first time. Heck even if you’re staying in midtown or...

Dearest Foreigner,
It is finally time for warm days in Tallinn, but remember - with your visa and/or resident permit come certain responsibilities. In order to maintain your status in good standing you must post a facebook status message each time it is warmer in Tallinn than your home city. This is particularly important if you come from a country that is considered by most to have nicer...

Bad news ... and some advice
Been kind of obsessed with going to the beach lately. Probably cause I’m old, and old people love the beach, as illustrated below
they … are lovin’ the beach:
How about you? Do you like the beach?
Well if you also work during the week and live in Tallinn, i have some bad news. Made this chart of weather for 2009 because one thing that comes with chemo is spare time, ...

I found 2 notes in my phone the other day. From the date it looks like i wrote them only a couple days after my surgery in January. I’ve been told i was very heavily medicated at the time which is why i only have the faintest recollection of writing them. Here is the first one - I’ve only corrected the most incoherent parts, so apologies if it takes more than a glance to read over. ...

Yesterday was the worst so far … until today, which has been worse still. What do they say, it’s always darkest before the dawn? Hope it comes soon. People often ask me what chemo is like. I end up expaining the various side effects, but I often get lost in the details of each side effect instead of explaining it properly. Well, to understand it most simply, chemo robs you of...

Plans
A friend asked me the other day whether I had any plans to start an exercise routine now that chemo is finishing soon. When I didn’t really have an answer, he seemed sort of surprised, even a bit disappointed. What I didn’t explain is that when you are facing something that almost killed you and is still trying to kill you, you don’t really think past the end of treatment. ...

So I haven’t updated this in ages because I have been fighting cancer for the last few months. Had an emergency operation in January and now am finishing chemo soon. Made many notes and observations but I’m not sure whether I’ll write about it here. Besides, writing about it would go against the whole “pointlessness” of this blog … or something … So in...

Random Thought
Made a couple trips recently and noticed something. Now I hate to be one of those pretentious people complaining about there being too many Americans in Europe. But seriously, there really are way too many Americans in Europe.
Like a couple weeks ago, we were in a jazz cafe in prague and every single table was filled with Americans. Yeah, yeah i know what you’re thinking - jazz cafe? ...
