KOHUKE. You likely haven’t heard of it if you haven’t been to the Baltics. It’s a snack made of chocolate, quark cheese and magic. Yes, you heard me, magic.
See, during chemo there are a few days each cycle where your taste buds get totally messed up. One day everything taste like metal, the next you don’t taste salt, and still others you taste nothing at all. Needless to say, keeping food down is very difficult during those days. But you’re told that eating is very import during treatment, because the spiral of rapid weight loss and malnutrition is something not everyone recovers from.
Enter KOHUKE. Imbued with good old fashioned estonian tree worshiping magic, and irrespective of what everything else tasted like, KOHUKE always tasted like KOHUKE. Which i forgot to mention is a very tasty thing.
So thank you KOHUKE. Thank you for being something I could look forward to eating, even on the most difficult days.
