Some advice if you’re coming to new york for the first time.  There are 3 main airports in the area: laguardia, jfk and newark.

For laguardia, make sure to tell the taxi driver to take the BQE to the brooklyn bridge, if you’re staying in lower manhattan.  Because there is no more magical way to see manhattan for the first time.  Heck even if you’re staying in midtown or higher, I’d still recommend to tell the taxi driver to go that way if you have money to waste.

If you’re coming into jfk, no worries because the cabbie will likely take the brooklyn bridge route regardless of what part of manhattan you’re staying in.

If you’re coming via newark, you’re out of luck because the view from that direction just doesn’t compare …  oh new jersey, will you ever win…
